The team was called by West Yorkshire Ambulance service to a report of an injured 68 year old female walker 1 mile from Arncliffe. The caller lost signal before being able to give an accurate location. So whilst the ambulance and helimed (The Yorkshire air ambulance) were on route the team decided to start their search for the female up Monks road. Luckily just as mountain rescue arrived the walker & her husband had successfully made it off the fell side, after having indeed been walking up Monks road. After an initial survey it was apparent that the lady was significantly unwell & suffering a suspected heart related event. After administering oxygen the decision was made to scoop her and rapidly transport her the very short distance to the now waiting ambulance (helimed stood down on route due to inclement weather).
