Duration : 2hrs 47min

Total Attendance Time : 25hr 3 mins

The team was called by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with a 62 year old lady who had slipped off stepping stones whilst crossing a stream. The casualty had banged her head and hip in the fall and was also wet having landed in the stream. They were being assisted by a passing ED consultant, other walkers and an event paramedic. Once the team arrived the casualty was immobilised in a vacuum mattress and then stretchered the mile back to the main road and a waiting ambulance. In the warmth of the ambulance the ambulance crew were able to give a more thorough examination and as the casualty's injuries were less serious than originally thought, were able to remove the vacuum mattress before transporting the casualty to the local hospital.
