On available information it was decided they were in Wharfedale, and a quick reaction by PC S.Crossley spotted them signaling SOS on a torch from the head of Firth/Step Gill. A team land rover got to within about 400 metres of them and they were soon in the vehicle, safe, and sound and on their way down to Buckden. |

The missing female finally turned up unharmed on the evening of the 26th. |
