Alan Hudson fundraising for UWFRA
MY STORY.
I was lost for over ten hours on Great Whernside in a snow storm back in January this year. The fell rescue were called out at midday but i was not found until 10pm .
By that time i had lost my left boot in a bog (that was covered in snow )had thrown my gloves away because they were frozen solid , and the water in my bottle had turned to ice , in the time i was lost i estimated i had walked over twenty miles and was dehydrated and suffering from hypothermia .
When darkness fell i thought i was not going to be found in time, when i was i was taken to Hospital with frostbite in both feet servere in my left foot (lucky not to lose any toes) , i was also told i may have damaged my kidneys (spent four days in Hospital, kidneys seem ok)
So i am doing the pennine way as a small thank you to the guys from the wharfedale fell rescue who trudged out in the snow that night to surely save my life.
