Media Give Support To Card Campaign
The ‘Calling for Help’ card campaign has been given full support by the press and media.
Full articles have appeared in at least 8 regional papers, including The Yorkshire Post. In addition, mention of the campaign has been made in 18 outdoor/tourist publications, websites, and on local radio. Television coverage was also given when ITV Calendar News attended the recent training weekend at Netherside Hall to film footage for a major piece based on the campaign.
North Yorkshire Police have given the campaign space in their internal and external publications, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has also featured it in their free flagship ‘Visitor’ newspaper.
Contacts within the Dales business community continue to expand, and our aim to have 300 outlets helping us distribute the cards should, hopefully, be realised during the summer holiday period.
A knock-on benefit has been that our website is getting a link from a growing number of tourism/outdoor activity websites. This will not only help get the safety message across but also inform the general public how the teams operate and the fact that we are voluntary organisations.
